Marine Radio Licence

If your vessel is fitted with a VHF marine radio, it is a requirement that you hold a marine radio licence. At Boat & Jetski Licensing FNQ we offer two different radio courses, SROCP and LROCP.

SROCP (Short Range Operators Certificate of Proficiency -VHF only)
Used in recreational boating on-board vessels fitted with a VHF radio.

This qualification allows you to operate VHF marine radiotelephony equipment. The assessment is 25 multiple-choice questions (requiring a 70% pass mark) and a practical component (both completed via Zoom).

LROCP (Long Range Operators Certificate of Proficiency -VHF & HF)
Used in the commercial industry, for students getting their commercial skippers licence (coxwains or masters).

This qualification allows you to operate VHF, HF and MF marine radiotelephony. The assessment is 50 multiple-choice questions (requiring a 70% pass mark) and a practical component (both completed via Zoom).
