Students must be at least 16 years of age to be eligible for a boat licence.
-
All participants must provide a valid form of identification and complete a self-assessment health declaration prior to attending the course.
-
Completion of our Boat & Jetski FNQ online course is required before attending the practical training session. The online course takes approximately 4–6 hours and must be completed in full prior to the course date.
Jetski Licence Requirements:
-
Students must be at least 16 years of age to be eligible for a jetski (PWC) licence.
-
All participants must provide a valid form of identification and complete a self-assessment health declaration prior to attending the course.
-
Completion of our Boat & Jetski FNQ online course is required before attending the practical training session.
-
A current boat licence is also required to obtain a jetski licence. Students who do not already hold a boat licence must complete both the boat and jetski licence courses on the same day.
2. Booking and Payment
-
Bookings can be made online or via email.
-
Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place in the course.
-
We accept debit card, credit card, and Afterpay through our secure online booking system.
-
Once you have booked, an email will be sent to you with all the details about the course, including what to bring, where to meet, and access to the online course.
-
If you do not receive the email, please check your junk or spam folder. If you still cannot find it, email us at admin@boatjetskifnq.com.au and we will resend the information.
3. Online Course
- Students must complete the online course for each licence they are booking (boat and/or jetski).
- The online course takes approximately 4–6 hours to complete.
- After booking, you will receive an email with access to the online course.
- If you do not receive the email, please contact us at admin@boatjetskifnq.com.au and we will resend your access link.
- Completion of the online course is mandatory. Students who do not complete the online course before arriving at their practical course will not be able to participate in the practical training session.
- For example, if your course starts at 8:00am and the online course is not fully completed (or only partially completed), you will be automatically failed, will not be permitted to take part in the course, and will be required to rebook and pay for another course. No refund or credit will be offered.
- We highly recommend completing the online course at least 24 hours before your scheduled course. If you choose to complete it later, you may still access the course; however, please note that we cannot assist with IT, login, or technical issues on short notice.
- It is a strict requirement that the online course is fully completed prior to your scheduled course start time. For any questions or support, please email admin@boatjetskifnq.com.au.
- The online course is only valid for 3 months, so you must complete your practical with your trainer within 3 months of finishing the online course.
- For group bookings, please ensure each student has their own individual access to the online course. Each student must complete the online course individually, so please do not use the same email address for multiple students.
4. Attendance
-
Students must arrive on time. Late arrivals may be refused entry and will forfeit their booking.
-
Failure to complete the required online course prior to the practical training session will be treated the same as failing to attend on the day. In both cases, no refund or credit transfer will be offered.
-
No-shows will not be eligible for a refund.
- Course duration times are approximate and may vary depending on student numbers, weather conditions, boat traffic, and other factors. Please allow the entire day (8:00 am – 6:00 pm) to complete the course, as it may run longer or shorter than expected.
-
Cancellations Within 72 Hours of Course Start Time
Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the scheduled course start time are not eligible for a refund, transfer, or credit, regardless of when the booking was made.
This includes bookings made within 72 hours of the course start time. Once your booking is confirmed, a position is reserved specifically for you, and late cancellations prevent us from filling that spot
5. Cancellations and Rescheduling
-
Boat & Jetski Licensing FNQ reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course due to low student numbers, adverse weather, or unforeseen circumstances.
-
In such cases, participants will be offered either an alternative course date or a full refund.
6. Student Conduct
-
All students are expected to act respectfully and follow the trainer’s instructions at all times.
-
Any unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the course without refund.
7. Certification
-
To successfully complete the course, students must meet the required competency standards in both the theory and practical assessments.
-
If you are not yet competent, additional training can be arranged at an extra cost.
8. Limitation of Liability
-
While every effort is made to ensure a safe training environment, participation is at your own risk.
-
Boat & Jetski Licensing FNQ will not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage unless caused by proven negligence.
9. Contact Information
All cancellation or rescheduling requests must be submitted via email — text messages or phone calls will not be accepted.
